Dr. William Carter
Medical Cosmetic Physician
I have wanted to be a physician since about age of 6 or 7. I graduated from college at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH with multiple academic and leadership honorary designations (Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude, and others). Medical School was back in Rochester, NY at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. I did my medical residency at Lancaster General Hospital in Family Medicine from 1976-1979.
Since starting practice after residency I have held many varied positions in both private practice and academic medicine (Hershey Medical Center). These positions have been located in Lancaster, Dauphin, and York counties. The realization of pursuing an area of intense interest of mine, aesthetics, started with creating Medical Cosmetics, LLC in Lancaster as part of the group family practice I was a partner in at the time.
Eventually the aesthetic portion of my practice became predominant and I left the group practice and moved to my own independent site in Lancaster as Medical Cosmetics. At the urging of my coworkers the office name was changed to Carter MD aesthetics in 2021.
My greatly valued association with Lébo Aesthetics & Spa began in 2010 after Heather and Hillary offered me a position at that time. It has been a tremendous privilege and a great deal of fun to have had the honor of being part of this phenomenal family of talented people here at Lébo. Sadly, I fear that the benefits of this close association have been greater for me than for Hillary and Heather. You see they have had to put up with my bad jokes, miscellaneous office antics, and quirky sense of humor all of these years!
For even more fun than my work, which I enjoy tremendously, I like reading, kayaking with my girlfriend, long walks, lifting not extremely heavy weights, doing things with my children and grandchildren, the beach, tennis, and the occasional glass (or 3) of red wine (just NOT Merlot).
